Contingency plan to fend off SARS (12/31/2003)

The Capital International Airport has unveiled a contingency plan targeting domestic flights to fend off a possible outbreak of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), Beijing Morning Post reports.

The move follows reports over the weekend that one person is suspected of having SARS in Guangzhou.
Flights from Guangzhou will taxi to a spot away from the terminal building.

Passengers will be closely checked for any symptoms; those who have high temperatures will be isolated and the plane thoroughly disinfected.
